Here you will find a courteous explanation of how we do things in our monitoring system. For general questions go to our Faq page. What do we offer and how do you sign up for services? This is a system to monitor internet servers. In the case your server fails or responds unexpectedly, we will send you an email alert. You can buy our services following these steps: First You open an account by clicking "Sign up" on the top menu. Second You "Login" and buy your "monitoring" services. That is all you have to do. After that, we will monitor your web site regularly based on the package you have chosen. If later you need to make changes to your account, you can "Login" and make them. You will also be able to update your services purchased. In the event you forget your password, you can click on "Get password". Follow the instructions and your password will be sent to your email. Brief explanation of how the monitoring system works. First, let me clarify the term target. TARGET is the term we use to refer to the item you want to monitor such as your url, web site, ftp site, email, server or device. Monitoring system details. There are two systems doing the target monitoring. Our goal is to have one system to be operating at all times. We consider the second system a backup. We keep an in-house database of active paying targets (apart from the database in the web site). We manually enter and activate each target when we receive a payment. Only active targets in our in-house database will be monitored. Targets' database will be obtained from the web site every 24 hours. If you have done some changes to your paying targets, we will automatically obtain those changes every 24 hours. Failure reports will be inputted into the web site database every 24 hours. You will get an email immediately after a monitoring failure. If your target keeps on failing we will keep alerting you every 4 hours. We do it this way to prevent filling-up your email box with alerts. How the monitoring system works. There are two systems doing simultaneous monitoring checks. Each one does this. 1-The system will pull one target and check it. 1-If the check succeeds, do nothing. 1-If the check fails, there will be a delay of 30 seconds and check again. 2-If the second check succeeds, do nothing. 2-If the second check fails, send failure email alert. 3-If the user already got one failure email within a given period of time, do not send more emails. 3-If the user did not get any email, send one to each of his inputted emails for this target. 3-Log the failure. One log-failure for each monitoring system. In the case of a failure, the email alert you get will have all relevant information you need. Every target-failure can alert multiple emails. There is a 15-seconds delay between emails. This is a sample of the text you will find in every email alert. The actual email you will get could look different but it will have all of this information in it. The ERRORTO and REPLYTO email-address of the failure email will be your main email. This means that all email errors will go back to you. And also, all the replies will go back to you.
